Have you seen IKEA's Norden Occasional Table? The table is well made for its price range — $199 at the store — and is a very versatile piece. We started its transformation by sanding the top to bare wood with an electric sander.
The Process
After wiping off all the dust, dark walnut stain by Minwax was applied. The goal was to give the table a rich butcher block appearance while keeping the piece practical and sturdy. Multiple coats were used to build depth, with light sanding between layers for a smooth, even finish.
